The music season in madras is the best time of the year
Thrimoorthi sangeetha sabha @ pozhichalur is conducting its annual music festival and is in its 14 th year .This year the inuagral concert by Dr Prema Rangarajan on 09/12/2016 accompanied by smt Usha Rajagopal and k. Sivakumar was the perfect start to the 12 day concerts.

What a concert it was .from start to finish.we did not once look at the time .only At the taniavartanam we saw it was 7.40..He is bestowed with a powerful voice.
Started with the sahana varnam .followed by pahi sripathe in hamsadhwani .murugatirumal maruga.in harikambodhi was the next .Ramabhakthi samrajyam was the only kriti presented of the Saint.few more Tamil compositions and main piece was poorvikalyani Meenakshi memudam.....tail pieces were eppovaruvaro.nandanandana in desh dhanashree tillana.
Overall presentation was superb .felt more weighty kritis could have been included as it is a treat to hear him
Melakaveri thyagarajan was just perfect for him and Delhi sairam was excellent .Upapakkavadyam always adds the extra zing to the concert and giridhari was very good .
The concert overall was very good except I felt few more thyagaraja kritis , dasarapadagalu could have been included
