This was the inaugural concert of Mudhra. Anahita Ravindran and Apoorva Ravindran are disciples of Chitravina Ravikiran. The vocalists, Violin and Mridangam vidwan/vidushi are winners of Mudhra Kutcheri Competition 2015. The vocalists show lot of promise. The alapanas were elaborate, full of authentic phrases, appropriate gamakams and brighas. The strength of manodharmam was evident in alapanas, neravals ands kalpana swaras. The compositions of Ravikiran and OVK were new to me. Karuvelpulu is Alathoor special. I have not heard that song from anybody else. They are sure to blossom into duos of good calibre in the years to come.

The violinst Apoorva Kishna is really top class. She is student of Smt. Brahmanandam and Anuradha Stridhar. The Lalgudi bani was evident. Her bowing had sweetness, good manodharmam in raga alapanas and swara returns. A really promising vidushi. N.C.Bharadwaj- disciple of UKS and Hariharasubramaniam played with lot of anticipation and lifted the concert to a higher level.
