The confidence of NRI based musicians like Sandeep Naryan, RK Murthy and recent wonder Adithya Prakash made me quite interested to hear the female artists based out of USA. I do know this young vidushi Kruthi Bhat is the niece of super nidAnam and brilliant Vittal Ramamurthy. Kruthi apart from learning from her mother and I see she is also taking lessons from Neyveli and sowmya . One keeps wondering if she was also tutored by LGJ and TRS , may be she had very early lessons from those himalayan giants

There were two great back to back concerts in Parthasarathy sabha. I started at 12 noon and I thought I can make it for sure . But i guess passing thru cathedral road and poes garden and with lot of trees getting ambushed in one side of road i lost atleast 15 minutes of her start. What can I say when you drive the car you always feel like having a realization of Gopalakrishna bharathi song "Oru adi vilaginAl POdhum".

As i entered kruthi bhat was a sure mama varisu , nidanam to the core . A lovely nattaikurinji unfolded with vazhi maraithirukkude and a flow with serenity was lovely. THe neraval line Oru adi vilaginAl PODhum was really wonderful , she definitely pleaded oru Adi vilaginAl with zero road rage.

Veenai kuppaiyar is a superb composer. If his compositions are sung frequently he will go run for money for atleast two of the trinity. This composition is an amalgam of T and SS , the SS lines like brova amma etc with few rounds of cittaswaras like many T compositions . She sang beautifullly the dhanyasi and the elusive rakthi rasa was there from the start and continued till nice sprinkle of swaras

kharaharapriya alapana was well done , this krithi and this raga needs more time .I would not blame her as it is an afternoon concert , she managed well with nerval in manasuna, swaras were not that great in KHP.

I skipped listening the next number as I wanted to grab quick lunch and listen to next concert . I heard in mountbatten mani canteen with dosa and strong coffee -the sumanesa ranjani bhajan.

M Vijay played well but I wish the press is bit more . Bharadwaj is already a star who has alreay outgrown the sub senior status . He played beautifully for the whole song . I skipped his tani

Kruthi Bhat is singing in pozhichalur in a prime evening slot at 05:30 on Monday. Her mellifluous voice is her asset. I wish I was on time for this concert.

Overall a very good concert for near 90 mins.

I understand she did learn from Lalgudi sir and TRS sir when she was a child.

So true about lines from this composition. I too am guilty of taking a few lines from the composition during frustrating drives, or when inconsiderate people block the view ahead despite having far too much space (and as far as the latter goes, I'm not talking about just on the road either).
