vidwan Vignesh Ishwar is extremely impressive . After hearing one of his concerts in the web , I ventured to hear this ajAna bAhu - inzamam ul haq'ish vidwan for the first time in a live concert. Nalla sareeram and also SAreeram. His start in sAveri was thru the speaker in mountbatten canteen . I am not sure if he sang kalyani alapana . But as I entered my first impression with one of my not so favourite melakartha 65 was really well done. Perhaps thanks to shyama sastri , this krithi does not sit in the usual drowsy pockets of Benadryl Syrup drowse of kalyani. I found a lot of his ideas and brigas which were polished and fast- certainly the semmangudi was omnipresent in kalyani which at times is there and not there with his immediate guru TMK.

The pick of the concert was his Arabi alapana, very expressive with cascade of flowing brigas gave the usual viruviruppu which is needed . Swaras were slightly off he could not give a very great presentation like kalyani swaras.Loved the presentation of O rajeevAksha. The next was dikshitar serene lalita.The song rendition could have been slightly slower . He started with ninnAda and I left the concert. Had to go home to spend my evening with family .

Vittal Rangan played very well, nice composed style but lovely raga bhavam . His turns in Arabi and kalyani guided me to appreciate the raga swaroopam bit more better when he played - He provides a fine polish and is not getting away from the core idioms of keeping it intensely classical .

Sumesh was going with the flow of Vignesh - both styles were bit pro fast and I liked it . Some one else can fill what I missed post kannada. Looking forward to hear this youngster .

Overall a very good to excellent concert for the 1 hour that I attended.
