G Ravikiran at Sasthiri hall on december 24

Friends,
Finally managed to step out of my house today after a bout of being under the weather - both physically and otherwise.
Today's Hindu threw up several names but decided to go to G Ravikiran's as I had heard him during my Bangalore Visit around April time.
Incidentally, I met couple of my Bangalore friends in the hall too!!!
Enjoyed the ambience of Sasthiri Hall - when I entered, Ravikiran was singing swarams for a raga which sounded like shubha pantu varali which i later learnt was bhavapriya - pardon my musical ignorance.
since my grand niece accompanied me, here's a correct list (she learns music in Bangalore and is visiting for the season):

srikanta neeyeda in bhavapriya ragam wish kalpanaswarams
rama ikanannu in sahana prefaced by an alapanai
balambike pahi in manoranjani of dikshitar
enati nomu palamo in bhairavi with detailed and meditative alapanai, neraval and swarams.
left after the tani avartanam as my grand niece wanted to listen to another concert at 6:30 pm.

i loved the slow and meditative alapanai - a lovely base voice which has ganam and nayam.

kudos the supporting artists violinist vv ravi (i am told he is the legendary vvs's brother) and trivandrum balaji on the mridangam.

The concert was indeed beautiful. The list includes
