Baby Sreeram is not a mainstream performer, but I like her off-beat approach. Her low pitch gives her music a masculine touch which is possibly why the general audience cannot take in her music. On the day of the lec-dem (I gathered it was her only program for the season), she was seen struggling to breathe (asthmatic attack) and her voice had a very limited range. But her musical thinking is free and she expressed the compositions she chose to present with swanubhavam. One only wished for more clarity in enunciating the words to hear and understand the sahityam better.

Thanks CRama. I don't know how I missed your earlier report. Interestingly, we have said opposite statements about the sahityam clarity! Is it the acoustics of the hall? I could not understand even a single word of many songs. I would happily blame the hall than the artist for it.

svenkat, it was not my review. maheshS has posted that review. Yes I too observed the dichotomy in your observation regarding clarity of expression.

I suppose we can listen to the Youtube version to get a better idea. Problem solved!
