The sacred word RAMA is said to precede rAmAvathAra itself and is composed of major letters of ashtAkshara ( om namo naRAyanaya)and panchAkshara (naMAsivaya), and was used by shiva in his penannce. That is why sage vasihta is said to have suggested this name to king Dasaratha for his son. ( Hearsay information )

Ramanama is called taraka nama and it means it helps to cross the samsara sagara. That is why those who die in Kashi are said to be given Taraka mantropadesha by Sri.Vishveshvara.

In earlier days there were two bajanai pandhathis known as pudukottai gopala krishnan bhagavathar and thiruvaiyaru nagaraja bhagavathar. Is it being followed now by their respective disciples. Is there much difference between these two pandhathis ?

No. 'paddhati' pertains to style. 'padAntara' is variations in words.

It is sampradAya: "prada" meaning to convey or bestow, with the added the prefix "saM" (roughly meaning "wholly" in context). Put together, it refers to something wholly passed on(i.e. from generation to generation).

Dear Sri radheykrishnaa,

As you have suggested I can write about Sampradhaya Bajans.
But I am hesitating, because I am very poor in launguage. I may
commit spelling and grammer mistake.

Thanking you

Ram Ram S.V.Narayanan.

The forum is very informative. Also Great Souls are participating in this forum. I am participating in Sampradaya Bhajans for about 35 years. Also I am performing Bhajans twice a day in my house, for the past years together. I request one and all to perform Bhajns in their houses and chant "RAMA". It is most important in this kali yuga. Example: Lord Hanuman went through the sea with RAMA NAMA. But while Lord RAMA himself wanted to cross the sea, SRI RAMA built the Bridge and crossed. Think about this context, and CHANT the THAARAGHA MANTHRA, "RAMA", always, everywhere, to attain HEALTH, WEALTH, WHATEVER YOU WANT IN THIS BIRTH AND AT LAST THE MUKTHI, the SALVATION. Feel free to contact me regarding SAMPRADAYA BHAJAN. I will try to clear your doubts with the blessings of Lord RAMA & KRSNA.

Ram Ram

With your encouragement I have started writing about Sampradhaya Bajan .
If anybody wants any clarifications I can give reply within the limit of my knowledge
About the sampradhayam

First everybody should do Namaskaram before the Gods Idol or Photo which ever is installed.

The leader of the Bajan or elderly person will start with Pundareekam. Prathivachanam
by the gathered people.at the Bajanai Hall
PUNDAREEKAM PRATHIVACHANAM
First Janaki Kantha smaranam JAYA JAYA RAMA RAMA
Second Nama Parvathi Pathaye HARA HARA MAHADEVA
Third Govindha Nama Sabkeerthanam GOVINDHA GOVINDHA
And the other pundareekams follows. The above three is in order.

Then Rama namam chanting.
Now the Bajan is started with Jaya gosham. If you utter Rama Rama always gives Jayam.
Then Hari Narayana Namavali

Here I want tell that a person need not to sing .If he utters Prathivachanam he should also be
treated as Bagavathar. Recently His Holines Jagathguru Sringeri Sankaracharya swami told at
New Delhi as follows and a leading Bagavathar told to me.

BA Denotes BAKTHI
GA Denotes Without Garvam (EGO)
VA Denotes Vak patuthvancha Purity in language
THA Denotes Thathva rahithaha Knowing the thathuvam of the song.
