I was not really able to enjoy the tambura player, as my view of her was blocked from where I was sitting. In fact I did not even realise that his sister was there until I moved to get a different photographic perspective!
Seriously, though: Yes, when I could see her, I could also see the expression in her eyes as she really appreciated the music. Another thing: look at Sivaraman's expression. For the most part, accompanists enjoy their job (and in rare instances when they may not, professionalism takes over) and love the music --- but I have never seen such a light in his eyes. It seemed that he was really
marvelling at Sruthi Sagar's playing.
So, inspiration and joy radiated from Sruti Sagar and his accompanists, creating a truly wonderful concert. Thank goodness for Parivadani, but yes, you would be quite right to envy those of us who were able to experience the event on the spot
