There was a good turnout despite being on Krishna Jayanti evening and many other performances in town.

This was the second concert of the bi-monthly Nagaswaram series organised by Parivadini in association with Naada Inbam.

Injikudi Marippan is the brother of the illustrious artist Injikudi EM Subramaniam. He presented a concert that was unque both in style and content. The concert went on till 9.30 PM for almost three and half hours

13. Agamarumagi - Suddha Saveri - Arunagirinathar (Interestingly the beginning piece and the end piece differ only by the madhyamam yet the ragas sound totally different!)

That was a brilliant concert with somewhat rare uruppadis.
(Of late the Nagaswaram Vidwans are rendering many Tamil kritis in varied ragas. I wish they announce the particulars then and there for the benefit of rasikas).

The opening Varnam in Vandanadharini was set to a unique 'tisra jati jhampa' as I could note from the way the Taalam artist was applying it (the 6 akshrams basically match rupaka tala). I wish if someone could throw more light on this.

Though I had to leave after the Kapinarayani kriti, the earlier Neetimati piece with excellent Alapana and sprightly swaraprastara gave a satisfying effect of a full concert!

while at times the nagaswaram is shown patronage where they line up back to back 4 artists in a day and give each 90 to 120 mins or just use them as mangala vadhyam for inaugration , you giving time for 3 and half hours only brings these kind of 40 ragamaliga and songs . Kudos to your team in giving the artist their due share otherwise whole world will not know what they are capable of?

That must have been at Brahma Gana Sabha. This is the first time we are having Shri. Mariappan perform for us.
