Started with Rahul announcing Puriya Dhanashri. Abhishek did a short alapana in pantuvarali but he could have announced the raga name pantuvarALi before singing to indicate that he's singing a Carnatic raga.
RAHUL sang bada and chota khayal in Puriya Dhanashri
Abhishek sings Endaro mahAnubhAvulu in shri Raga
Bhajan/abhang in malkauns by Rahul
Abhishek sings neelambari - mAdhava mAmava
First thoughts:
RAHUL sang full khayal recital of Puriya dhanashri whereas no significant manodharma component by Abhishek . Short alapanas of pantuvarali and neelambari and a short neraval in madhava maamava.
Why is Abhishek singing everything so fast? In the short pantuvarali alapana he could have sung it slowly but at the beginning of alpana there were a lot of brighas. You could see the discord between the vilambit of puriya dhanashri by rahul and alapana by abhishek in pantuvarali. Even in a raga like nIlambarI there are a barrage of unnecessary brighas.
Why is the mridangam of Anantha Krishnan so loud? Much louder than tabla.
My pick of the day:

I am a firm believer in NOT mixing vaththakuzhambu with dhal makhni.

LOL, @sankark.
I've got to agree with @bhargavramks's assessment of Abhishek Raghuram. I attended one of his concerts last year, and there was such a surfeit of brighas, in EVERY song almost, that it was really off-putting. Hell, even for pavamAna mangaLam he added brighas. Also it didn't help that prior to the concert my friend showered encomiums on his singing (this was the first time I was seeing him live) and hyped him up so much that after seeing that performance of his, I couldn't help but feel like he was overdoing everything massively.
