Why can't our musicians get together and sing amruthavarshini concerts so TN can get its much-needed rains? CM can make its valuable contribution to alleviate this severe water scarcity.

Which begs the question, why was there only one case of amrtavarshini all of last season?

Too afraid of another flood? Come on, life needs to be in balance. We are set up for the worst possible drought since 2003 right now.

Last week there was a carnatica sponsored event at chennai where lot of musicians sang each for an hour ending with a religious discourse praying for rains . Then I heard a varali aazhi mazhai kanna praying for rains . I guess we all can send 10 musicians to the south island of nicobar in andaman and nicobar and ask them to sing only intense carnatic south based ragas like shuruTTi, devagandhari etc .They all pray and sing so the next cyclone in Bay of Bengal never goes north to kakinada, Puri or very likely to chittagong which is always the case. We need one big exception.

Here is one lovely amruthavarshi song sung by maestro maharajapuram Santhanam sir accompanied by his lovely son maharajapuram Ramachandran .THe composer is yaazhpaanam veeramani . This number is extremely apt where in charanam veeramani says something like "arul amirtha mazhaiyai agappaienil pozhiyum aanma vayal sezhikkum" ...... Yaazhpaanam veeramani prayed for rains to Lord shanmughane . I know for sure if it rains in Jaffna it will also rain in TN.

Is there one Dikshitar amongst the current crop of musicians. I doubt !!!
If they sing amritavarshini, the rains will go towards Andhra Pradesh

We must turn the state of Tamil Nadu into Crater Nadu if we can store up enough water for the future.
