Too many comments. There is only one reality: that magical realists will go on for ever and cannot be persuaded.
But the article was interesting. And it is interesting to explore phenomena of all sorts.
One curious thing that I picked up was the apparent contradiction in the fact that the standard pitch actually used by orchestras has been rising over the years, apparently because it is thought that people like "brighter" music, with one study showing that listeners actually prefer lower pitches.
