Jayasree Aravind is a highly respected Veena vidushi, a disciple of Sangeeta Kalanidhi K.S.Narayanaswami, not frequently seen in Chennai music circuit. Her pristine patantharam, leisurely style of playing, well ḍetermined gamakams, large repertoire all make her concerts a league in their own. The alapanas of Yadukulakambodi, Mukhari, Thodi and Punnagavarali were replete with raga bhavam and had desirable spacing in them underscoring her abundant manodharmam. The kritis were rendered in gayaki style- conveying the sahihtyam of the songs eloquently. The kalpana swarams had an innate layam in them. Her manodhramam got revealed in the expansive tanam ragamalika which is special to the veena.

Mannarkoil Balaji on the Mridangam embellished the concert to a great extent. Accompanying for veena concerts requires a special skill and Balaji proved himself a perfect foil for the sensitive Veena concert. His sunadam, anticipation, unobtrusive following, controlled volume, subdued playing for padam, spacing etc added to the enrichment of the concert experience. The Ghatam vidwan jelled well with Balaji in the tani avartanam
