Smt. Prema Rangarajan gave a concert for Nalinakanthi on 8th Sep 2007 at the MGR Janaki College Auditorium , Adyar.. She was accompanied by T K Padmanabhan on the violin and Mannarkoil J Balaji on the mridangam.

As is usual with her, there were well known as well as rarely heard Krithis. The music offered was throughout sober, precise and dignified.

Undethi Ramudu was sung in a leisurely and expansive manner with all the cascading sangathis. Ennallu Tiruguno of Muthiah Bhagavathar and Balambikayai of Dikshithar set the mood of the concert. The main raga Madhyamavathi was rendered in a scholarly fashion. The selection of the neraval point and swaras at Palinchu Kamakshi highlighted the intellectual aspects of Carnatic Music.

The violinist enjoyed the type of music offered and collaborated well. Balaji was as usual at his ebullient best throughout and in the stimulating Thani.
