I wanted to make it to 30 concerts in 2024 , fell 3 short .Despite not having any issues of cold in , had some critical errands where i missed atleast 6 days , i would have touched 30 for sure but fell short by 3.

There was this a Oli theme concert that was held where there is no amplification which i attended just once. There was once delhi muthukumar holding few years back some thing called suprabatham sangeetham that had an early morning concert. I did not attend that . I thought let me go to V V S Murari championed concert series . This he has called Ekaantha Sangeetha Seva . I see VVS Murari has lined till Jan 13th , if any one is here , do go at 6 AM there is lovely line up .

I have never walked any where from R R Sabha towards the direction of beach . I was surprised to find just 2 mins away the venue is a Raghavendra swami temple . The hall is great and it can take may be 100 , being ekantha seva with no microphone , it was pitch dark with neatly placed oil lamps lit showing just an outline of faces of fellow rasikas and artists , kind of a miniature guruvayur temple like.

In all these no microphone concerts , the artists have to be very sensitive to volumes. Suryaprakash sings with his natural voice and with very sensitive flow by shertalai, one has to give a lot of credit to sowmiya who passed more and Raghul who had a magic touch like his guru M Chandrasekaran. It was a fantastic concert with a watchful balance and immense naadham.

Brindavani varnam of suryaprakash , it is going to reach a status of Charukesi of LGJ /viriboni in bhairavi.Nice ragam to give a fantastic start . The #2 went with more of his gurus who are all not marketed the so called semmangudi parampara not that known sishyas (then the MMI-TVS) and deva deva kalayamithE came out very well with a nice cloudburst of sarvalaghu electric cheenu like swaras . Short umabharanam was quite impactful but may have been more impactful if there was few more rounds of swaras

Saraswati submain was lovely , alapana was intense his grand paramaguru-HMB created a beautiful krithi and with nice neraval in jeeva shakthi , kutcheri was zoning with continued excellence . Saveri was a great drop , i am assuming he did for language rotation to kannada and possibly mantralaya and venkataramana and purandaradasa had some connection(not too sure).

06. manavyAlakincharA(S) - nalinakanthi -T
3 mins swaras
07A. shree vishwanatham bhajE (R,S,T) - bhairavi - Psivan
7 mins alapana and 3 mins violin return
swaras for 4 mins
07B.tani for 5 mins

08A. viruththam - divya prabhandam pasuram - behag +Kapi
08B. udhari thallAmal -Kapi -Sundaraja (Parvathi srinivasan)
09. Mangalam kosalendra- madhyamavati

Singing fast fillers with a very noticeable swara pattern, i repeat very noticeable swara pattern with long cycles is so rare , many take fast krithi , few usually add cittaswaras or at the fewer most sing shorter cycles or just skip and go to main. This drop of manavyala takes a lot of air power in your lungs and nalinakanthi was fantastic. This drop is in my opinion a differentiator as he organically blends so well with swaras and krithi with so much of manodharma.

THe main rolled as a lovely bhairavi . papanasam sivan composed in sanskrithized thamizh or thamizhised Sanskrit (I dont know what is this language) , this indeed is a beautiful number. Thukkadas had a nice pasuram in behag and kapi and the lovely uddari thallAmal came out exceptionally well. All 3 did play very well, particularly the lovely press of Raghul and sensitive play of ananthakrishnan with a pointed short play by somiya narayan did make this concert wonderful

Thank thank you v v s foundation and team of musicians (all 4) , indeed it was a blissful experience , hopefully i am planning to come to one more concert in this lovely ambience with zero noise. I went to work taking the MRTS train after a round of prasadam and a near by breakfast along with Mohan who was there with me.

Mylapore maintains the lead only with Ekaantha seva morning blissful 6am to 07 30 am concerts , may be another 20 to 30 mins please.

Overall an excellent concert for 90 mins
