This publication is dedicated to explore the sāhitya portion of selected songs focused on Rama alone. Compositions chosen include those of tyāgarāja, muttusvāmi dīkṣitar, svāti tirunāḷ mahārāja, maisūr vāsudēvācārya, maisūr sadāśiva rāō, bhadrācala rāmadāsa, sadāśiva brahmēndra, one-two unattributed pieces, and selected songs from a composer named vēṅkaṭārya.

The lyrics are presented in dēvanāgari, then in Roman alphabets, with word-to-word meaning given in English, with a running meaning for each line also in English. Then follows the summed up meaning for each song af the end of the last section(samaṣṭi/caraṇa) of each song.

This is probably a good reference book for teachers, learners, scholars and rasikas of both Carnatic Music and Bharatha Natyam to get a better understanding of the compositions presented.

For copies one can contact the Carnatic Music Book Centre.
