In the banner of Naada Madhuram (school of Suryaprakash), Suryaprakash invites his disciples to perform in season . He is holding it for may be 8 plus years , but i am attending for the very first time . The concerts are 45 mins each . About 15 years or may be 18 years back i do know Suthikshana Veeravalli from USA is a senior disciple . At that time there was one more young vidwan Sudharsan of near Sutikhsana or may be more senior category . I have heard a recording of Sudharsan , when once late Nagai Sriram told me in person , he was very impressive . There are lot of disciples junior to these two ,quite a lot of them are very concert ready for long term.Kudos to this (mmi + ssi ) school

All 3 concerts brief review follows , i did not note the time, each of them had their own team

All said as i entered , i saw a young vidwan well built with a long hair singing with such intensity . He just started bhairavi, he had great throw and brighas . THen he sang a brilliant upachAramoolanu , with short neraval and medium swaras , at no point he lost the original anthakalathu GNB Intensity.

Trichur Ramachandran was the youngest disciple of GNB , who also learnt bit from MLV. Now PRagadeesh is the youngest disciple of Trichur Ramachandran . The fingers of Siddhanth was running fast with sarvalaghu. I just googled to find Krishny has a surname Shanmugharajah, she played well . Are Krishny and Pragadeesh sister and brother. He ended with a nice maand with muralidhara gopalA. Pragadeesh said he is from Australia when i briefly talked . He has to be watched , what an anthakalathu GNB like intensity.

Aneesh Bhat is based out of Udupi/Mangalore area. This is the first time i am hearing him both live or recorded. Aneesh takes his time to settle , the aggression is controlled , i could spot a lot of Suryaprakash and also a significant shade of KVN. Start of jaya jaya pabmanabha was great with swaras . KaPi is a great choice for reduced concert slot as a main. Hear i could spot a very balanced leisurely treatment ,very high shruthi suddham. HE sang the krithi very well. He started neraval sketch and swaras were well done . There is so much of Suryaprakash touch in intha sowkhya , especially he sang in one go for last 3 mins was well done . HE sang with a lot of oomph in the final PD krithi in bheemplas , i have not heard 100 percent from his guru, it is MLV -Sudha krithi , i think once i heard aruna Sairam, nice emotive krithi, being PD krithi each of them sing in their own raga

Veena Krishnan , googled to find she has two gurus (vocal-suryaprakash and violin-AKanyakumari), kudos to A Kanyakumari , i dont know how she trains with such classicism . She is from bayarea is what the search reveals. Nagaraj Nochur played well , konjam bit more aggression would have helped. Aneesh in some time at kapi krithi was signalled by both suryaprakash and Arkay Ramakrishnan to sing bit more , but he sacrificed as it was too late and gave the floor to Sutikshana , his concert was only for 35 or 40 mins. I wish he had taken it another 5 mins before say PD krithi if he had sung an ugabhooga or slokham that would have given more joy to me.

Suthikshana is multi talented . She is a senior disciple of Suryaprakash. This is the first time i am hearing her in a live concert . Her biggest strength is her madhyamakala voice , voice has a very rich timber and emote. There was a lot of overlap with her guru suryaprakash. When she started bhuvaneshwariya and swaras i liked it , this krithi has a significant manaseega influence where everyone takes it from the great maharajapuram santhanam. IT was todi, her alapana was quite deep. Clock was not in her favour , she sang emi jesithE as a main. She skipped neraval and sang swaras , certainly apart from suryaprakash she brings a minor maanaseega shade of NC VasanthakOkilam . She Ended with kaliyuga varadhan i left . I also spotted vidushi Sumitra Nitin from a distance for sutikshana concert. Suthikshana excessively turns her head to the violinist , konjam she can face the audience far more , adequate eye contact with audience will help both the audience and performers.

All said 2 youngsters with the school of suryaprakash and one from Trichur brothers , singers are from Illinois-Karnataka -Australia (whole world is covered). Best wishes for each of them to pursue full FULL time music . I heard suryaprakash say from 2002 starting only at skgs , after 7 or 8 years i came to know that he was a state rank holder in 10th and he did not take up BITS pilani and joined BSC Chemistry in MCC, that is one dimension. Another dimension that i have seen there must be a close family ecosystem to promote rest of the year ,for eg i have seen RK Murthy GrandFather a lot having a good relationship with many sabha patrons . Best wishes for the relative-friend ecosystem to assist these young vidwans/vidushis .They are doing well,but they will do very well if they intensely have more opportunities to perform and possibly having a single focus on Carnatic music.

Special thanks for the super patron sabha patron Arkay Ramakrishnan, his passion and energy is absolutely incredible

Made a mistake that is Trichur Ramachandran who is guru of pragadeesh
