carnatic music in russia

why is carnatic music not so popular in russia and china ? is it because of the inhospitable climate and travel restrictions, redtapism etc gobilalitha

There is an excellent commercially available concert of MSS in russia, accompanied by Kandadevi, KVP, Harisankar and THV... main piece is Shankaracharyam (Shankarabharanam).. and there is also the famous Lalgudi trio video in Moscow...

A lot of todays artists have also performed in festivals in Russia...
