Good to hear that TyAgarAjA is celebrated in Paree too. And with Vedavalli, Suguna Kalamegam and others. I suppose there are going to be more concerts since you give deatails about day one.
SrIkAnta enagishTu daye mADO tandE is by purandaradAsA, and is sung in various rAgAs (I have heard it in kAnaDA, Lakshman's list has SrIranjani).

Looks like this is a Tyagaraja festival of a different kind- songs from other composers are also sung.

Samanth, welcome to the forum! A fine list of artistes who will, I'm sure, get to perform at a venue that is worthy of their vidwat. I note that the list includes a song in your honour!

Vijay: I am not too sure about "in my honour" -- but Smt. Vedavalli was kind enough to announce the song, and then look pointedly at me in the audience and give me a quick nod.

It was a very nice gesture on her part.

Aha, That is an even bigger honour than I had at first suggested! I second Bharath's suggestion. This forum could certainly use a resident reviewer in NYC, especially one with a flair for writing...

I now realize that your reference to the event was in the past tense - so perhaps you could start acting on our review requests right away...
