Review of concert of Prof T.N.Krishnan Viji Sriram Krishnan

Hi ,The concert was as to be expected outstanding. They started off with an excellent rendition of the Suruti varnam followed by a sedate Evarani in raga Devamrithavarshini and followed by a delectable Begade raga alapana by Prof T.N.Krishnan and rendition of Vallabha Nayaka krithi sans swaras. The next item was a Panthuvarali raga elaboration by Viji and followed by rendition of the Tyagaraja krithi Siva Siva with the usual dose of nereval and swaras. This was followed by a short alapana of ragam Sriranjani and krithi Sogasuga.... in very soft manner. This was followed by elaboration of Rithigowla raga alapana and rendition of the krithi Janani ... It was a very very delectable rendition and then followed an elaborate R.T.P in Thodi .... by then I had to reluctantly leave the venue to meet someone. I hope some one could complete the review. The mridangam accompaniment by Dorai was subdued initially but turned rather loud subsequently Amrit on the kanjira was subdued right thru... This is my maiden review and I hope that any mistakes may be excused Bye ragjay

Had to miss this one as I didn't want to suffer from "concertitis"..It does get stale after you attend a few. I admire the stamina of Rajesh and Vijay.

Bala I am selective in attending concerts and hence I do not suffer from concertitis... However the season at home literally rains 24/7 /365 which i enjoy...Ragjay
