Accompanied by vv ravi - violin , UKS-mridangam and TV Vasan -ghatam
The major pull was to hear a rare combination of UKS and SuryaprakAsh together.

1. vanajAkshi ninnE(varnam) - kalyAni - pallavi gOpala Iyer
2. tatvamaria taramA (S) - reetigowlai -PApanAsam Sivan
3. jUtamU rArE (N) - Arabi -T
neraval in "Agama sancaruDaTa Akhila"

4.shri sathyanArayanam(R,S) -subhapantuvarAli -MD
5.manavyAlakim(S) - nalinakAnthi - T
6A. kaligiyuntE(R S T)- keeravAni -T
6B. tani

7. meevalla - kApi - T
8. RTP - shanmughapriyA -
pallavi line in "mahAtmA mani mozhi vazhi nadappOm mAperum thalaivan gAndhi"
rAgamAliga swaras in shanmughapriya + nAttaikurinji and darbAri kAnaDA
9. devanukE pathi indra tarakepati(bhajan) - darbAri kAnaDA - ST

10. dheenakarunAkaraNE - yaman - Sivan
11A.viruththam "sindhubhairavi + rAgeshri"
thenpazhani vElavaNE therkku thisai mOOlavaNE - rAgeshri - ??
11B. ninaikAda nEramiLLai - rAgeshri - SOmu
12. thillAnA -dhanashri - ST
13. pavamAna

Overall a very good to excellent concert , the best was the RTP in shanmughapriya particularly I did not anticipate a RTP that too in shanmughapriyA as he had a concert from 2 to 4 pm in NGS on the same day. The tAnam was metered with Shri UKS playing excellently . The pallavi line was rendered not as mmi bANI ,but more like sOmu style ,swaras in darbAri was outstanding.

The low was nalinAkanthi especially the swaras where there was a kalApramAna vottam , also the meevalla in kApi was uninspiring rendition. All the rest were very good .

Shri UKS played not to his usual best , but I had a chance to watch for the first time both his both left and right hand as I was sitting in this hall facing him. I particularly liked his aggression in the early reetigowlai and in the thAnam. His humour especially when suryaprakAsh sang the first line of pallavi where he said "intha kAlathla romba sramam(these days it is difficult to practice )" before he played for the pallavi was nice .VV ravi was just good ,perhaps his play was little slow. TV VAsan played sparingly but was very good. The concert was for 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Rajesh,
dIna karuNAkaranE natarAjA in yamunA kalyANI?? Or, was it something else?

Was the word kAlam meant as 'these times' or 'this speed' when UKS said it?

Good question. Isn't this a film song composed by Papanasam Sivan in the 1930/40s?
It is listed as yamuna kalyani at karnatik.com but it does not sound that way to me.....

IIRC , the song neelakantanE came in the move "thiruneelakandan" tuned by pApanAsam sivan and sung by MKT in (mishra ?)yaman. I first heard this song when Shri DKJ sang .

arasi,
shri uks meant The word kAlam as 'these times' .

Rajeshnat, Thanks.
I found a link to the original MKT song (later sung by DKJ) http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/t ... name.5435/

Could you please verify if this the piece that Suryaprakash sang? If so, is this yamuna kalyani/mishra yaman? It sounds to me like a mixture of ragams created for cinema....

Yes mahavishnu, it is the same . To me this is yaman as it has got more flat notes . The word mishra itself means rougly mix hence it can be considered a mixture of ragams with yaman as the base.;)
