maragata vaNNanAm tirumAl marugan I would think can be taken as the emerald-hued vishnu's nephew. I do not know if murugan is described as green in color. His peacock is. Moreover, 'paccai mA malai pOL mEni is ascribed to VisNu as a rule. Still, if you insert a comma between the words, it would mean murugan!

In the kriti SubramanyEna rakshitOham (MD), in charanam, 'Venkateswara naama rUpEna, vichitra visakha mahOtsavEna' is coming. Here Murugan and VenkatEswara are treated as one by the great Deekshidar ... hence the colour theme by Thooran - can we accept?

Yes VGV, The Kriti is in praise of Lord subrahmannya of Kazhugumalai , near Thirunelveli.The word Venkateshwara refers to a King who ruled that region and refers Lord Muruga AS HAVING BEEN WORSHIPPED BY the pious King venkateshvara,
This is just like thyagaraja referring to Kovuri Sundaresha , presiding deity and also indirectly mentioning the name of sundarashwara Mudaliar , an ardent devotee and patron of CM,

The dictum in sanskrit sloka is " kalow venkatanAthasya "- in kaliyuga, it's Lord Venkateshwara, but it appears that Periyasamy Thooran has made this song Kaliyuga Vardan on Lord Muruga ?? Any reactions from rasiksas please ?

I have tried to give the meanings to the best of my knowledge - Corrections are welcome -

tAzh saDaiyum nIL muDiyum oNmazhuvum sakkaramum
sUzh aravum ponnANum tOnRumAL - sUzhum
tiraNDu aruvi pAyum tirumalaimEl endaikku
iraNDu uruvum onRAy isaindu

Lord vishNu (mAl) beheld (tOnRu) with braid-long (tAzh saDai) (on one side) and flowing hair-long (nIL muDi) (on the other), with excellent battle axe (oNmazhu) (on one hand) and discus (sakkaram) (in the other), encircling (sUzh) snake (aravu) and waist-thread-golden (ponnAN) -

in my Lord (endaikku) (literally my father) - situated on (mEl) on tirumalai surrounded (sUzhum) by gushing (tiraNDu) water-falls (aruvi pAyum) - both (iraNDu) forms (uruvum) are indeed coalesced into one (onRAy isaindu).

braid - vishNu; flowing hair - Siva
discus - vishNu; battle axe - Siva
snake - common for both
waist thread - common for both

This pAsuram highlights the essential one-ness of Siva-vishNu principles.
Some people tend to interpret 'iraNDu uruvam' (two forms) as 'Vishnu' and 'Murugan'. However, this pAsuram does not mean so.
