A few corrections (?)

AlakAlam=poison (hAlahAlam); aNI sei kaNTan (one who is decorated with the stain of blue AlakAlam (nIla kaNTan-blue necked)
SUli and nIli, both can mean PArvati, kALi; SUDum pAkan? One who sports her as his other half? (PAgan, bAgan). nIli is also a plant (avuri), anil. Does he wear a garland of it?
nIRu=vibUti; tulangum (one who sparkles with the holy ash )Ekan=the one and only
ambalattil ADum kUttan=one who dances in the ambalam
aravu punaiyum arumaip pittan=our beloved mad man (pittan) who wears; pittan is also one = who drives us mad by stealing our hearts.
vembulittOl virumbum ISan=one who favors wild tiger skin for a garb
vENDi ninROR vinaigaL pOkkum=one who drives away the ills of those who worship him,

Ravi, Rajani et al,
correct my corrections and bring in the stories...

tUya nIru - could it not also mean the clean/spotless gangA?

SulI - the one who weilds the triSUlam - pArvatI
nIli of course is kALI
Suli nIli c(S)uDarum bAgan - could also be correct - one who is lustrous when he is inseparably united with pArvatI (as ardhanArISwara)

I would go with nIRu (vibUti)--it would have been nIr if it were gangai.
Ravi, any stories?
What a nice composition!

Arasi : beautiful words and translation too.
"aravu punaiyum arumaip pittan=our beloved mad man (pittan) who wears"
I think the word "snakes" is missed out here.

Also "kAlakAlan" would refer to the story of Markandeya, where Shiva saves him from death.

Yes, a beautiful song, Rajani.
I caught the snake but let go of the aravu!
