10. Mangalam

Shri TVS started with an excellent Mohanam krithi and went with a new Mohanam Krithi . The volley of swaras in Mohanam was very rich in manodharmam . The popular Orajoopuchu had the same mmi stamp, but however at the end of the krithi , the long winding swaram had significant traces of Abheri .

Took the popular SAveri krithi in the line "Oru kAl Urai Seidhalum" was quite good . The Vachaspathi was a significant dissapointment as Shri TVS had so much traces of Mohanam in both the alapanai and swaram . THe Neraval was in the lines "Padmanabha Murare Kesava" was quite good .

Needaya Radha served as a good filler . The kApi that followed was just ok. Having many times heard the same INtha Sowkhya felt Shri TVS did not deliver to a perfection that he is so used to in this lovely rAgam. The viruttam Hamsanandi was good with so many phrases ending with Tiruvenkata , thought he would take his usual route to finish with his trademark "Srinivasa Tiruvenkata", but instead finished with a new Tirupathi VAsa

NagaiSriram in my opinion is a very attentive, quick and perfect violinist , but I could see only in KApi . The Kannadagowlai long swaram return had significant traces of Madhyamavathi. The Vachaspathi was not perfect , quite possibly Shri TVS did have so much traces of Mohanam.

Bhaktavatsalam played outstanding in the kannadagowlai and mOhanam. But however in KApi he was just ok .The Tani was so loud that it teared my left ear and lost all the sowkhyam in me. Also he took roughly 6 minutes in 14 minutes after the first round of Tani to hand over to TV Vasan , making Vasan to appear to be completely left out.

Rajeshnat: Are you sure of the pallavi line for the hamsadhvani song? TVS often sings Tulasivanam songs and this could be gajAna mAm pAlaya.

I'm confused Lakshman. I don't see a hamsadwani piece.

IIRC,The concert was for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Lakshman Sir,
Some one else in the audience told the mohanam was a tulasivanam krithi, I was not sure so I put a ?? . You may be right about the krithi line.
