what raga is this?

Dear rasikas, I have heard a raga, but do not know the name. It is bhoopalam with chathushruthi rishabham instead of sudda rishabham. s r2 g3 p d1 S , S d1 p g3 r2 s.

Please let me know if you have heard of this raagam.

What you refer to as Bhoopalam is actually Revagupti. Bhoopalam uses g2.

Violinist Shri.M.Chandrashekar did a programme in podigai T.V.with 5 ragas with Arohanam/Avarohanam
srgpds-sdpgrs
They were Bhoopalam, Revagupti, Shivaranjani,vaasanthi and mohanam.
a few more are there-can anybody give the names?
Bhoopalam minus sudhdha daivatam with chatushruthi daivatham in its place
Revagupthi-again replace S.D with C.D
Vaasanthi-replace anthara gandharam with sadharana gandharam

Prof SRJ (my uncle) recently did an exhaustive presentation on SGMDNS SNDMGS family of ragas. Will get details when I meet him in Chennai this summer.

reg. SRGPDS series, there should be 12 such ragas (incl 4 vivadhi). Do not know the names of the missing ones but in the movie "Bharati" - Ilayaraja had used the scale S R1 G3 P D2 S very well in the song "Edhilum avan iruppaan" - ...

The scale you mention (S R1 G3 P D2 S) goes by the name rasika ranjani.
