This is the first ever time I'm attempting something like this, so please forgive any errors.

Wow! Thanks for your efforts on this. That photograph has a lot of character and I knew there was a good story to go with it. Are any of Sri Parameswara Bhagavatar's recordings available? Are any of the prominent vainikas today from his lineage? Please excuse my naive questions.

"He meticulously handled the intricate work of setting to mettu (note: tone? I believe this is something more than mere tuning – the tamil words used are “mettu poruthum nutpamaana vElaiâ€

Veena Ananthapadmanabhan is indirectly from his lineage so is Smt Gomathy Chidambaram, a Veena artiste based in Trivandrum.

Hi,

I am Ramakrishnan, new to this forum, just registered since I saw this article about my grand father posted. In fact, the Tamil article was from my geocities site. Yes, we are continuing the veena tradition (as blessed in the article title itself). If you want to know more details, please e-mail me at [email protected]. We do have some informal recordings of my grand father's veena music (totally for about 4 hours, old spool recording).

Thanks for the interest.

Ramakrishnan
