Sriram,
When I had a call with you, you were mentioning about what your dad sang at cleveland . I particularly like you to throw more light on the song list and especially rAgamAliga with lyrics (please)of your periappa Shri ManakkAl varadarAjan . Looks like if your dad is half unknown in carnatic circles , your periappA is almost full unknown. By the way at the age of 85, your dad singing nagumOmu is a truly daring venture. You can make the post in your dad's thread http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=276

If it is CTA(Cleveland Thyagaraja Ardhana) we know it is (a) GOOD FRIDAY
If it is CTU(Chicago Thyagraja Utsavam) we know it is a memorable MEMORIAL DAY
I do not know what it is when it is LABOR DAY-for
I do not live in the U.S.A
All I know is that, for us, who live in Chennai, Bengaluru,Mumbai, Hyderabad ,Delhi
Or any place where CM thrives
Every day is a THANKSGIVING DAY
Yes, we are indeed thankful for all the cuthceries happening
In all these places.

punarvasu,
Any 'Day' all the 'Labor' of love which organizers of festivals expend, the least that other rasikAs can 'Give' is 'Thanks'.
Of course, any day is Christmas day when we all exchange and enjoy the gifts (of music). When we believe in extending goodwill...

Cienu, CML, Sriram, Ramnath Iyer,
Thanks. Did not think the verse would lend itself to singing! It was just supposed to be a sequel to what Sriram and CML wrote...

What Sriram wrote is indeed:
'C'level and Cleve mind (musically) language!
:)
Arasi/Punarvasu
That is a beautiful Concept! For us at the Forum Every day is a Christmas Day (gift receiving) and also a Thanks Giving Day !
