The only difference I can think of is that mandAri has a rishabham as opposed to amr.tavarshiNi.

'Ninnu cheppa(or jeppa?) kAraNamEmi manasA is a kriti in MandAri.
As Kmr wrote
Mandari-srgmpns-snpmgrs
Amritavarshini-sgmpns-snpmgs
The swaras are sudhdha rishabham, antara gandharam, pratimadhyamam, panchamam and kakali nishadam in the former
and the same minus sudhdharishabahm in the latter.

I think Mandaris is considered a janyam of Pantuvarali while Amritavarshini is a janyam of Gamanashrama.

I think you might want to hear a clip of vAsudEvAccArya's varNam, "vanajAksha ninnEkOri" in mandAri. He has incorporated all the required svara prayOgAs of this rAga in the piece.

Sudha Ragunathan sung this relatively rare varnam for a change at her Academy concert this past season.
The Mandari varnam has been recorded by Mani Krishnaswami in an album (MDC 306, Dreams Audio)
details/clips of the Ennalu mentioned by vignesh.ishwarany would be appreciated.

Re. Amritavarsini, a clip from Charulatha Mani's Isai Payanam on Jaya TV:

This is however brief. There is more detail in Isai Payanam - DVD version (volume 7, GDVD-012, Giri Trading)

P.S.Iyer's Entha Poojala is recorded by Alatur bros. (AVM Audio A2V90584)

I stand corrected. I just listened to my avm tape after several years. It is indeed Endukitu chapalamu in Mandari. It is labeled as Entha Poojala in Amritavarshini. At least musicindia got the ragam right!

According to Prof.SRJ"- Amrithavarshini can be considered Janya of 51,53,54-,63,65,66,-69,71,72 -can be fitted into as a Janya of 9 melakarthas.However,.as per convention the earliest no. to be accorded- ie.,51-kamavardhini."Raga lakshanams-Part -2.
*Padha bhajaname Bhagyamu-Meesu Krisknier is yet another kriti in this Ragaa.
* Sri. Ramnad krishnan rendering of Paraloka Bhaya mu comes to my mind when I think of Mandhari.
