I am searching for the entire text of a beautiful song which condenses the Ramayana in a few couplets. So far the search has proved to be a proverbial needle-in-the-haystack given the folk origins of the song and my not knowing the name of the composer. My grandmother used to sing it to my father and his siblings when they were growing up in the Vijayanagaram - Vishakapatnam area during the 1930s. Some lines that have survived in my father's memory go as:
ramaiyya tandri o ramaiyya tandri
nannu rakshinchu kaapaadu ramaiyya tandri
munilababuladavigalavu ramaiyya tandri...
nannu rakshinchu kaapadu ramaiyya tandri
seetamma talli..
I would be much obliged if someone who knows the song will kindly post the lyrics. Thanks,
ramaiyya tandri
