Is there a software where in if you feed in the notations, you get the tune?

I am not aware of any. This is not as easy as it sounds - because the notation system is not accurate to capture the nuances of the gamakas, nor is that easy to be accurate (it is probably one of the more difficult technical challenges)

Go to http://keepvid.com/
Paste the Youtube URL in the box
Click the Download button
Click the Download as mp4 link to save
A Save dialog box will pop up
Choose an appropriate file name

semmu86 - I was able to play mp4 in Windows Media Player. If it doesn't work try renaming the file extension to .mpg

This is just an alternative to Mohan's method.

You can also download youtube clips with the newest version of real player. This gives you a plug-in option that shows up while viewing a flash based (or other streaming) video. It is as simple as right-click and save video as... The only catch is that the downloaded video will only open with realplayer.

ah i found another method... googling is a great way to find out things for a software novice like me.... go to http://www.downloadyoutubevideos.com/ and paste your youtube url link in it and save it with a .flv extension..... and ofcourse you need a flv pllayer to play it which this site itself has and it takes hardly 2 minutes to install....

harish.krishnan213,

Years ago I put some of Pundit Bhakthandes raga notation
on the scanner and it was converted to midi tune. It was
capella scan software, but I am not sure if it is still available,
it ran on win98 OS. I think you could then use Vienna soundfonts
of original Indian instruments to process further and convert into mp3.I think I might have this equipment on an old computer. If you have chance

You might try this out in my office during business hours and leave me a copy of the results. On the other hand there might be some such experiments available on the net if you google for them?

cheers

I would like to know the software you are looking for must be for carnatic compositions or western kind
notation software exists for both
