Prashant, thanks for introducing me to this composition, and Lji, thanks for the lyrics.
It is a concentrated encapsulation of Siva bhakti.
P: sadAshiva bhajanamE janma shApalyam tarum manamE sAmba
It is only the worship of (bhajanamE) the ever (sadA) pure/auspicious one (SivA) who is always in the company of (sa) the dEvI (ambA) [1] that will grant/help obtain (tarum) fruitfulness (sAphalyam) to this life (janma) of ours!
A: sadA samsAra sAgaratiil amizhndu tattaLittadu pOdumE iravu pagal
I have had enough (pOdumE) of this struggling/gasping for breath (tattaLittadu) while sinking (amizhndu) in this ocean (sAgarattil) of worldly-life (samsAra) day (pagal) and night (iravu), continually (sadA).
C: ihattil sakala saubhAgyamum peralAm Ishan anbaruDan kalandinburalAm
agattil vaLarum nOi kavalaigaL aralAm annai vayiTril piravAp-padam peralAm
Let us attain (peralAm) every (sakala) good fortune (saubhAgyamum) that awaits us in this world (ihattil) by mingling/mixing (kalandu) with (uDan) the devotees (anbar) of the Lord (ISan) and experience divine bliss (inburalAm) [2]. Let us experience the destruction of (aralAm) of diseases (nOi) and worries (kavalaigaL) that flourish (vaLarum) in the sinful and egotistic acts (agattil) we indulge in, and in the process, let us achieve (peralAm) that ultimate goal – a state (padam) where we will no longer be born (piravA) of/from the womb (vayiTril) of a mother (annai) – aka nirvANa [3].
FOOTNOTES:
[1] I have interpreted sAmba to be sa+amba – The experts can confirm if that is correct.
[2] I think this is inbam+uralAm = inb(am)uralAm
[3] Relief from the cycle of life, death and rebirth – punar api jananam, punar api maraNam etc.. etc…OR the saga of one Mr. Solomon Grundy!
