Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams,Government of Andhra Pradesh and SICA jointly oprganised the annamayya 's 600 th celebrations in hyderabad for three days..yesterday that is on 25th June,2008.There was a vocal rcital by Sri Malladi Brothers,who were accompanied by Shri Varadarajan on the violin,Pathri Sathish Kumar on the Mridangam and HAri babu on the Ghatam

It was a wonderful recital by Malladi brothers.They gave a wonderful start with a vasantha raaga composition.With brisk swaras at the pallavi they made even more wonderful presentation.they said that the song was tuned bySripadha Pinakapani.They sang the bahudari composition set into tune by Nedunuri gaaru.
A pleasing alapana of Ananda bhairavi came later followed by a very pleasant keerthanam.
After which Sri Sriram Prasad spoke about how Annamaya songs are sung.They are generally sung as light music compositions which are thrown at the end of the kutcheri just as thukkadas.But there Guru believed that this must not be the way to treat the wonderful compositions and gave them a wonderful carnatic tune.He aslo explained way Semmanagudi Srinivasa Iyengar worked for the popularisation of Swathi Tirunal krithis by setting them into perfect carnatic style and made them equivalent to the compositions of the trinity.they also said that Annamacharya's compositions can also be sung in a perfect carnatic way and that was the reason why they wanted to present the carnatic effect in annamayya krithis unlike those which sound like light music compositions.Sri Sriram Prasad was telling that the treatment given to annamayya krithis as the light numbers is really resented by them.they said that MS amma also folowed the same tradition intending for the annamayay compositions to get a good carnatic style.
They sang a poorvikalyani song and a song in khamas.Then came the elaborate sub main piece.Hamsanaadam
They alapana was scintillating.they made certain phrases of the raga together which sounded really wonderful.
The song is generally sung in Revathy.But this Hamsanaadam one set to tune by Shri Nedunuri gaaru is really amazing.The neraval was too good.They later sang a number in Huseni raagam.The main piece of the day was Mohanam which was excellent.The Thaniavarthanam by Patri Satish Kumar and HAribabu was really good.As usual Patri Satish Kumar ji was superb..!!The composition in Hindusthani Kalavathy set to tune by Oleti Venkateswarulu gaaru was really pleasing.They gave an outline of Raga Dwijavanthy and sang a compositrion set to tune by Sri Malladi Suribabu,father of malladi brothers.Mayamohamu in Jog was also set to tune by Their father.Chenchuruti,Sindhubhairavi and Surati were the oother ragamns which were in the last part of the concert
Sri Ramanachary from TTD was the chief guest of the programme.He was telling how succesful Annamayya Jayanthi celebrations happened all around the globe and how wonderful is the temple of Annamayya in the village of Tallapakka in Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh.He was also mentioning about the 108 feet statue of Annamacharya in the village which is being visited by atleast 2000 people per day.It was a wonderful concert.There are two more recitals.26th it is going to be Sri Garimella Balakrishna Prasad and on 27th its the Priya Sisters who are going to treat the audience of hyderabad.Please forgive me if i had mistyped anything or if i made a mistake any where...
