Place to go if you want to ask someone identify raga, tala, composer etc or ask for sāhitya (lyrics) or notations or translations.

sarasa sAma dAna bhEda daNDa caturA - a beautiful song describing the sterling qualities that made rAma the exemplary king among warriors! It was truly brought alive for me by Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant in her ekahArya - tyAgarAja rAmAyaNa. Can someone translate it (word to word) please? I did not find it in a quick look through the wiki.

VK and cienu's review of Smt. Rajeshwari Padmanabhan's concert jogged my memory.

Thanks!

carnaticopia writes --> Song: sarasa sAmadAna rAgam: kApinArAyaNi tALam: dEshAdi composer: thyagaraja language: Telugu Meaning:

Oh Rama! You are the One who knows how to use the saama, daana, bEdha and danDa methods at the appropriate time. No one can be compared to you. Please help me. RaavaNa, the most devoted bhaktha (devotee) of Lord Shiva, could not understand this truth. You sent many calming words to him through your messenger. You even granted Ayodhya to RaavaNa. Finally, you conquered him and made his brother Vibheeshana the king of Lanka.
