We are always discussing heavy subjects, why not for a change discuss some funny subject like carnatic musicians with a bushy moustache,? First and foremost TMKrishna comes to my mind. he has groomed a bushy moustache, which adds to his powerful, handsome personality I thinkSanjay also tried it for some time .Why not some of our artist can draw caricatures of present day vidwans like TNS with moustache. Lest some member starts attacking me, I once again say , let us have an injection of humour. afterall humour without attacking anybody is apart of our lives !!!! .. GOBILALITHA

Gobilalitha,
Mali, not the flautist but cartoonist, drew such adorable pictures capturing the expressions and personality of musicians in the good old Ananda vigaDan. They were such a treat during the season. He drew flute Mali too, by the way! I think there were a few in the vintage pictures thread (?) if I recall correctly.
Yes, it will add merriment to the season if some artiste gets to draw sketches of preent day musicians.
Anada vigaDan could also bring from the archives the old Mali treasures for the benefit of the new generation of rasikas...

I notice a pattern which suggests Gobilalitha is particularly intrigued by the looks of male singers -- just like me!

Not sure if it can be considered bushy, but Dwaram-garu did sport a moustache.
On a related note, we do have a few artistes with full beards, e.g. Karaikudi Mani, KS Gopalakrishnan, and the late Dr S Ramanathan.

It apparently does not hinder mridangam playing!

I have not been able to sing at all, since I shaved my beard off a few decades ago.
