Dear Rasikas,

Can anybody elaborate on Malayamarutham? I'm not looking for anything specific but more like a learning experience. What you like about it, the best Krithi in the raga in your opinion, the best exposition of it by a singer, etc.

This raga was used as the basis for composing the song "Maleya Marutha" in the Kannada movie Maleya Marutha. Its a nice number, and brings out the raga quite well.

There is DKP Amma's elaborate malayamarutham in sangeethapriya.org....
The krithi Dhanyudevvado was rendered really in a pleasing manner...
The raga itself is extremely soothing...
