meaning of maitrim bhajata

can some one please give me the meaning of the following bhajan.
I guess it is in sanskrit,,, but i do'nt understand quite a few words...
please help by giving the meaning.... :)

maitrIm bhajata, akhila hrit jaitrIm |
Atmavad Eva parAnn api pashyata |
yudhham tyajata, spardhAm tyajata |
tyajata parEShu akrama-AkramaNam ||

jananI prithivI kAma-dukhArtE |
janako dEvah sakala dayALuh |
'dAmyata, datta, dayadhvam' janatA |
shrEyO bhUyAt sakala janAnAnAm ||

the meaning provided on the karnatik site is not complete, actually it only describes the meaning of the last line...

the meaning provided on the karnatik site is not complete, actually it only describes the meaning of the last line...
kriishnaa,here it is.Yes it is in Sanskrit.
It is a call to all the people.

maitrIm bhajata, akhila hrit jaitrIm |
Praise(or adopt) friendship which conquers the heart of the world
Atmavad Eva parAnn api pashyata |
See others as you would see yourself
yudhham tyajata, spardhAm tyajata |
eschew wars and competitions
tyajata parEShu akrama-Akrama
Nam |
eschew attack on others which is not correct(akramam)

jananI prithivI kAma-dukhArtE |
the earth is the mother who grants all your desires
janako dEvah sakala dayALuh |
the lord is the father who is all compassionate
'dAmyata, datta, dayadhvam' janatA |
practise restraint,charity and mercy, oh people
shrEyO bhUyAt sakala janAnAnAm ||
let their be prosperity and all thats good for ALL THE PEOPLE.

The meaning is
(Janata) - O people , (Mytrim Bhajata) - cultivate
friendship (Akthla-hrid-jethrim) - that can win over
everyone's hearts (Atmavadeva paranapi pashyata) -
look upon others as your own self (yuddham tyajata) -
give up war (spardham tyajata) - give up competition
(tyajata pareshu akramam aakramanam) - give up
aggression (on others' land/property) as that is
unfair
(janani prithivi kamadhug aste) - the mother earth
yields all our desires (janako deva: sakala-dayalu
god our father is all merciful (damyata dattha
dayadhvam )- practise self-control, donate, show mercy

shreyo bhooyat sakala jananam - may all be blessed
with shreyas
The phrase "damyata dattha dayadhvam" is from
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
