Something came up during the concert so I had to leave urgently during the main piece, which was ninnE namminAnu in tODi.
The highlights for me were outstanding swarams in vAtApi gaNapatim, a sedate mEru samAna, a soulful rendition of kA vA vA and the tODi krithi rendition which was very nice.
I understand from friends who were there for the whole concert that Sri Santhanagopalan rendered a rAgam.tAnam.pallavi in dEsh with a patriotic theme.
Easwaran Sir's accompaniment especially for vAtApi gaNapatim and mEru samAna was beautiful. Sri V.V. Srinivasa Rao, Trichy Sri Murali and Alathur Sri Raja Ganesh provided solid support on the violin, ghatam and khanjira respectively.
