I am looking for a copy of the Natya Sastra with english explanations. Please help me with either details of a particular edition, or an online copy or notes.

There are many translations in English--

Natyasastra by the Board of Scholars

Natysastra by Dr. Manmohan Ghosh

Natyashastra by Dr. N.P. Unni

There are some very interesting ones in Hindi aswell--

Natyashastra of Shri Babulal Shastri

The same by Dr. Parasnath Dwivedi ( also containing translation of Abhinavagupta's commentary)

As far as I know there are no net versions. You will need to purchase a copy or try a good (university) library that may have a copy.

But it contains only 7 adhyayas.
