A remarkable and enjoyable concert! Highlight was raga alapanas, kalpana swarams and able support of pakka vadhyam. Both raga alapana - purvi kalyani & dwijavanti were outstanding, sung unhurriedly full of bhava laden phrases. kalpana swarams for purvi kalyani, reeti gowlai and dwijavanti were awsome. For example - in reeti gowlai - he sang simple swaras - in both kalams (example - n p nn s nn s - first in 2nd kalam, immediately in first kalam), including some swara sequence from chittaswaram, and small laya exercises. Dwijavanti swaras were mostly sung in 1 avarthanams, for both kaalams. Tani avarthanam was also enjoyable. Sri Govindaswamy almost reproduced all swara, laya patterns sung by santhanam sir - and Sri Sudheendra anticipated very well and played excellently. Vocalist was very much appreciating pakka vadhyams throughout.

I went upto him to thank for the wonderful concert at the end, there were many other rasikas were emotional and said, his music had mix of masters like KVN, Madurai mani iyer.

Today Sriranjani santhanagopalan is singing in same venue. Not sure, whether i will get to attend.

Dvijavanthi he sings very well. He has a commercial.... titled "Ekaika Ragam" in which he has sung Ragam, Thanam followed by akhilAndEswari.

In his swara paterns, one is reminded of MMI.

I was wondering if Sriranjani could not come from Chennai. to accompany him. Good to hear that she is giving a concert today. Hope some of the Rasikas attend her concert at Ragi guDDa temple...
