This news item talks of nityashree rendering panini raga. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Citi ... 625517.cms

Can someone please elaborate on the structure of this raga? I couldnt find any answer when i did a google search.

I am pretty sure this raga has nothing to do with the famous sanskrit grammmarian PANini :)

On seeing the report in Times ofIndia about Nithyasree's performance at Bangalore, my wife Lalitha had the same doubt about raaga Palini(NOT Panini,as corrected by our walking encyclopedia Lakshman) Will some member explain the raaga, preferably with an audio . Oh! Ramaraj, we are expecting your contributions . gobilalitha

Many thanks Lakshman. I found it

I notice from her ragaprastharam aro/avaro as
SR1G3PN2S'/S'N2PG3R1S

Really an intriguing raga. I also wish Ramraj is with us now to have another exciting composition.

thanks to Lakshman and cm lover, I just now heard the song. the raag is really intriguing to quote cm lover, It resembles malayamarutham, sallab, both to some extent. A word of praise is due to LalithaSivakumar, mother of Nithyasree, who has composed this meaningful song .gobilalitha

As already stated by cmlover, Nithyasree's song follows the second definition of the raaga . gobilalitha
