My music teacher has learnt from Srinivasa Rao who taught in Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan,Mylapore .Also he has written and composed quite a few kritis in hindustani ragas. His mudra is "naanudaasa".

I heard that MS also learnt bajans from him.

Probably he composed the hanumachalisa for MS.

Can someone confirm this?

Yes, the tune for Hanuman Chalisa as in the MS version was composed by Sri. Srinivasa Rao.
