5. raju vedala - todi - rupakam - thyagaraja (alapana, neraval & swaram @ kAvEri tIramunanu pAvanamagu rangapurini & tani)

6. swagatham krishna - mohanam - adi tisra nadai - othukadu venkata kavi

7. Ragam thanam pallavi - kaapi - adi talam (samam eduppu)

pallavi - raghuveeram raghavam ramam bhaje raghukula tilakam sri

arudhi in bhaje

ragamalika swaram in nata kurunji, siva ranjani, behag

8. pyare darasana dijo - meera bhajan

9. teerada vilayatu pillai - ragamalika - adi tisra nadai - subramanya bharati

10. sloka in kannada - barayya ranga barayya - abhogi - adi - purandara dasa?

11. tillana - brindavani - lalgudi jayaraman

12. pavamana - sourastram - thyagaraja

It was an enjoyable evening. The varnam was very brisk, and 2nd kalam also was sung. kalyana vasantham and todi alapanas were leisurely paced, with vishranti, and fast paced brigas in some places. I haven't heard kalyana vasantham alapana in recent times. In swara prastara, she ended last 3 avarthanas in s. g. m. d. n; s.n.d.p. and innudaya also in s.n.d.p. swaras. vachaspati keerthana was very fast, and didn't deserve as a filler before main item. She did a brief neraval for 3 or 4 avartanas for "alanADu saumitri pAda sEva ". Todi alapana was for about 10 minutes, she employed various prayogams without and with panachamam. It was in more or less expected sangathis. Ananthakrishnan's response was good and very classical. Vishaka hari then explained briefly about various songs she sung, their ragas and importance. She also explained that she is going to sing srirangam pancharatna - raju vedala. Tani avarthanam was enjoyable. Sudheendra played a korvai to end his first round - i think, some kuraippu in korvai, and in both kalams. Tani was short and sweet, and sukhanya did throw ghatam in air during final korvai....

swagatham krishna in mohanam was sung in tisra nadai, and charanam was in chatusra nadai. chittaswaram was sung for isin chatusram 1st and 2nd speed, and then switched to tisra nadai, and joined the pallavi in tisram.

kaap ragam and thanam was enjoyable. Again, ananthakrishnan responded well, and provided good support during alapana. Pallavi was rather simple, and there was trikalam. Swaras were sung, and in last avathanam, there was tisram. Ragamalika swarams in nattakurunji, siva ranjani & behag. Concluding swara kalpana avarthanam was in all 3 ragas in reverse order and joining back in kaapi.

I am not sure what raaga was meera bhajan sung. Teerada vilayatu pillai was sung with bhavam. before concluding she sang the pallavi in 2nd kalam.

She concluded the concert with lalgudi's tillana and pavamana. I would like to hear views of others who attended.

yesterday she gave a discourse on "Life History of St Tyagaraja A Musical Voyage" in same venue in english, and tomorrow she is singing in jaya nagar - as a concert, and also harikatha in "prahlada bhakti vijayam"

Is there any way to hear a recording of this concert? It would be nice to hear Smt. Hari's Kutcheri apart from her wonderful discourses. Are there any recordings of Smt. Hari available in the market?

There is a VCD of Sundara Kaandam, Seetha Kalyanam and Prahlatha Charitram. by Smt. Hariji I saw it in Giri Trading Mylapore.

I did not find any concerts for sale. She gives only limited concerts. She is famouse more in "Upanyasam". That may be the reason her concerts are not that famous.

Any one attended her discourse on Narayana Teerthar at NGS last week ?

Nice to see Smt Vishaka Hari singing concerts as well.

i still remember a concert of hers at RR Sabha between 5 and 6 pm on some evening during the season. One of the bestest bhairavis i cherish till date.

that Smt. Vishaka Hari concert i mentioned was a good 3-4 yrs back. and the concert had all of sAvEri Adi tALa varNam, koluvaiyunnADE (RNST) and the thiruppavai of the day.

I was surprised to see her not wearing her trademark nine yards saree ( in the you tube link) . THis was perhaps before her marraige?
