Pt.Jasraj conducts this Sangeeth Samarohi in fond remembrance of his family memebrs...His gurus,... Its basically a hindusthani music festival....But Sudha ji demonstrated Carnatic music as a part of this Festival.The concert began at 10pm in teh night causing much inconvinience to teh rasikas.... but the ardent fans of hers were waitring with lot of Thirst for her music....She never fails to please the audience... She was accompanied on the Violin by Sri Raghavendra Rao and on the Mridangam by Neyveli Skandasubhramyum. On ghatam Sri MAdipakkam Murali was present and Tambura support ws by Sri Natarajan.....The compereing for the show was done by Durga Jasraj.... Sudha ji began her concert with an invocation to lord Ganesh in the raga Hamsadwani followed by the evergreen "Vathapi Ganpathim" of Muthuswamy Dikshitar...The kalpanaswarams for this krithi was simply mind blowing
After this Sudha introduced the Carnatic music part to the many hindusthani music lovers there... She told them about many aspects of Carnatic music...And she then went for the elaboration of the wonderful Shanmukhapriya followed by "Mari vere dikkevarayya" of Patnam Subhramanya Iyer... The Thaniavarthanam just made me speechless.It was amazing....
After that Sudha ji sang "Shanthi Nilava Vendum" in raga Misratilang, a composition of Sethumadhavarao as a dedication to all those innocent people who lost their lives in the mishap that occured in Mumbai that day...and prayed for their souls,....
After teh recital she thanked oen and all for waiting for her concert for so long..without even being bothered by the rain...After teh concert the conversation between Pandit ji and Sudha Amma on teh dias was really superb....Pandit ji said that since 3 years he had been waiting to taste this gana Sudha of Sudha ji and today indeed he realised that it was really true that she made him taste that Sudha....
It was amazing recital....
