I don't think I have the stature to comment on the concert - but suffice to say - it was a BRILLIANT CONCERT! Each piece was sung with dedication and classical excellence - the audience erupted in pure joy - the Rishabhapriya was really a lesson to youngsters how it could be a joyous experience...the toast of the concert was the RTP in Bahudari, and Neela mami being the veteran that she is, sung it with aplomb - it was short due to time-constraints - but very complete in all its facets, the audience never felt that she rushed into it.

Pertinent to say that the accompaniments were simply outstanding - the way Patri followed every "ashaivu" and "valaivu" and the sangathis in the neraval truly encouraged the main artist. With both Patri and Dr.Karthik at their best, the thani was very very good ! What more can an audience ask!
Embar Kannan was his good self - playing with humility while playing for a senior artiste.

All in all a very superlative experience!

Thanks sappri for the review. I was one of the lucky ones to be part of this fantastic concert. Personally for me Ranjani and Rishabhapriya took the cake . Superb ranjani that was...

And as sappri mentioned the accompanists were outstanding.

Vidushi Smt. Neela Ramgopal is into her seventies and its amazing, to say the least, the ease with which she delivers a nearly 3 hour concert with hardly a dull moment.

As someone mentioned at the end of the concert... she should be Neela 'Energy' Ramgopal. Surely Energy is her middle name. My salutations to her !
