An well presented concert by Shubha that was good throughout.
The Bowli Krithi is one which she renedered with full bhava giving importance to the meaning of lyrics. Arabhi alapana was just too good. She could have been more crisp while rendering a sub main alapana.
It was the best and classical, Certainly the swaras were sung with full of manodharma but too fast at times.
The best was her detailed kalyani alapana with lots of brigas, complete in all aspects,.The neraval in particular was brilliant and lively, The Kalpanaswaram was worth mentioning The touch of MLV was always there in kalyani.She also rendered a krithi of Tanjore sankara Iyer in a new raga called Vishnupriya which she announced after the end of the song

Poorna vaidyanathan , the violinist came 15mnts late and the concert started only at 6 45pm.

I too heard that concert really a good one! Can anyone say whether she is a direct disciple of Dr.Mlv she sings in that style, where else she is singing i want to listen to few more concerts. IS that Arabhi a Dikshithar krithi??

NarasimhaMamava - Arabhi is a composition of Maharaja Swathi Tirunal and not Muthuswami Dikshithar
