It was a nice concert with an innovative Pallavi. The list wasn't of the usual type. The Dikshithar Navaroj Krithi was very soothing. The Charukeshi Alapanai was emotive. Hearing a Charukeshi live after quite some time. The main Mohanam was elaborately rendered with a leisurely Alapanai. The Thani which followed had quite a few absorbing patterns. The RTP was the pick of the concert to me. Alapanais were done for all three Ragams. Both the Ragam and the Tanam had their final segments comprising of all three Ragams with fine transitions. The violinist's responses were precise and good. The Pallavi itself was sung very well with Swarams at different Eduppus corresponding to different Ragams. A few rounds of the Pallavi were also sung in Vasanthabhairavi as was appropriate in the Sahithyam. The Trikalam was done neatly as well. Post main, the Behag piece was very appealing and the concert was rounded off with a Thiruppugazh.
Overall, a fine concert with an intellectually interesting Pallavi.
