I have been listening to this RTP quite a few times. Please let me know the ragams that he employs in the pallavi; I want to check my recognition progress.

For reference: 47 minutes long, got it from Sangeethapriya. During this piece, he asks someone to be quiet by saying "Sir, do I not know the difference between fan noise and people talking? :("

thanks

Sounds like Atana, Aarabhi and Bhupalam to me.

Got 2 out of 3. I was most confident about the third :( It still sounds like Bhupalam to me. Have to listen to more songs in Bhupalam/Bowli. Thanks you all.

Those morning ragas which are usually referred to as Boopalam ( in common parlance or outside mainstream CM or in lighter genres ) are usually either Bowli or revagupti. In this case, you can hear the 'Ni' which seals the deal in favor of Bowli.

Boopalam, due to its use of the lower Ga (G2), has a bit more sedate feel to it and the morning raga effect is a bit subdued: http://sangeethamshare.org/tvg/UPLOADS- ... 2.6-MB.mp3
