Sudha:
Mathe malayadwaja,
guruvarulum tiruvarulum(Abhogi)
Emani pogaduthura(veera vasantham)
Ardhanaareeswaram Swaram@ ardha yama
Jayajaya Padma Manirangu
Malmaruga shanmuga
Mama Kuleshwaram (Todi) R,N,S- GNB
Gowri manohari RTP ragamalika in rasikapriya, sindhu bhairavi
parkadal alai mel
Hari smarana Mado
Key points
1. Unfortunately her voice did not cooperate, neither did the accompaniments. Gopinath was below par.
2. It was evident that she was unwell, either a throat infection of sorts, or some temperature, perhaps
3. She was ok in Todi, slightly better in the RTP, but gave an impression that she was in a hurry to conclude, probably because of her health
4. Morsing could hardly be heard.
5. Below par pallavi rendition.Overall a forgettable concert.
6. The main hall was full, so I listened to the concert in the telecast @ the mini hall.
Unni:
Vaaderaa deivamu
Chintayamakanda
Adamodi galade (R,N,S)
Abhayamba jagadamba Kalyani (R,N,S,Tani)
Brindavana saranga pallavi (Ranganai sree rangani azhaganai brindavana saranganai, khanda triputa, ragamalika swarams, sama, ranjani)
Kanda muruga kavadichindu shanmukhapriya
Dikku teriyaadha kaatil ragamalika
Chandrajoti tillana
Key aspects:
1. Breakneck vaaderaa deivamu swarams at daathri vinutu
2. Good Bhairavi
3. reasonable Charukesi alapana, very flat, below par adamodi galade
4. Good Kalyani, below average Abhayamba Jagadamba, lacked lyrical clarity
5.Short, but ok brindavana saranga pallavi
6. Excellent support by RKS, phenomenal Kalyani rendition, great tanam in Brindavana saranga
7. Tiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam, was playing tavil, not mridangam. He seemed to be in a hurry for most of the time.
8. I could eventually enter the auditorium, for this concert.
Regards.

I agree. Both are below par.
Sudha- People who went, thinking her recent KGS concert, must have got a real shock. Her sruti was "successfully" not co-operating till the RTP. Kumudakriya-it was not upto the mark.
Unni- His bhairavi was started like Mukhari (as written by my next seat religious "writer"). After listening to Malladi's RTP in Charukesi, I listened to the "below par" charukesi. Tiruvarur Bhakta was keeping his mridangam in "silent mode" not knowing what to do ?
He also had one RTP for the sake of RTP.... . I listened to B.Saranga RTP by TNS and TVS once, What I listened that day was a "new experience" !!!
I had to leave the hall really dejected having wasted precious evenings after listening to these two stalwarts.

Well.... Sad to know that sudha amma's concert was dissappointing to some of the rasikas...
But i believe no body is always wonderful... heard that she gave a wonderful show at KGS...
Probably MA concert of hers was dissappointing... but i believe she is always a promising artiste...
The statement Worst rendition ever heard in my life by Sri grsastrigal somehow is not cherished by me....
However it could be his personal opinion....

I agree with you. I changed my wordings. This is because of "more expectation". "When we go to Pothy's (Sudha is brand ambassador too), we expect a good saree, whatever the price may be. If we are not satisified, what will happen ? The same thing happened to me"
Sometimes too much of expectation is injurious to "heart"

revanthv.
About kumudakriya-review is "Hindu" goes like this.
"It was apparent that the full import of Kumudakriya and the kriti had not soakead in to Sudha as the presentation was tentative, lacking confidence. In most of the sancharas, the Suddha Daivatha was a little elevated from its swarasthana"
Now you understood my anguish.
