Does anyone have the English translation of the lyrics?

Pavan,

It was translated earlier, but the link to that (http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=63770#p63770) doesn't seem to be working. I have asked the admin to check it out.

This should work: http://rasikas.org/forums/post63770.html

When the forum was moved from http://rasikas.org to http://rasikas.org/forum, many of the old links ceased to work.

Adding the "/forum" to the url usually does the trick. So rshankar's url needs to be modified as http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=63770#p63770

I emphathise with the inconvenience and frustration :(

VK,

That alone did not solve the problem because my post was incomplete - so, I had to do some more bending over backwards to retrace the original posting on the 'oldforum' and edit the post. I think the link now works - I have a request - can we please change the title of that thread from 'meaning of mahAdevasutam' to 'meaning of ADi koNDAr'?

Is this song danced as folk dance or is it a Bharatnatyam dance? Is the audio available anywhere?

Thanks Much
Poonam

It is a traditional piece (a bhakti padam if you will), and not a folk one. IIRC, it is featured (with jatis) in an album by Smt. Sudha Raghunathan called dances of Siva.
