Hi
i have an excellent Vasantha Bhairavi he sang for a sabha in Hyderabad in 2007 and i hope in this concert also it was beautiful as he always provides great raga alapanas replete with abundant kalpana.

Organic traditional music.
Indeed! Love that phrase. Yes there was nothing synthetic or over-processed. Natural, wholesome fare good for the body mind and soul!!

Shri OST's is a full throated power packed style. His total involvement, traditional phrasings, long kaarvais and stops at the higher Sa, made for a riveting experience. Sri Muralidharan's understated but excellent accompaniment, along with the enthusiasm in Bhaktavatsalam's mridangam made it all the more complete.

In the front row for almost the entire concert (alas I didn't capture this on my camera), were Sri. N. Ramani, Chitravina Sri. Narasimhan, Sri OV Subramanian, Sri. Narasimhan (Asthika Samajam) along with Sri. Rammohan

Sahana Varnam--Kripa Joodu? Is it an Adi tala varnam or Ata talam? Whose composition is it? Di we have any recordings of that varnam.

i guess it is karunimpa. Kedharam, Are you are referring to the lines "kripa judumi" from the charanam?

My mistake. "Karunimpa Idi Manchi Samayamu" is a varnam composed by Tiruvottriyur Thyagayyar I think. But according to T K Govinda Rao it is Veenai Kuppayyar. The mudra "Venugopala" causes this confusion.

Seems a nice concert..Kaddanu Variki from someone like OST - would have indeed been good!
